[ Previous page ] Memory Stele 39/45 : During the night of July 28, 1944 to July 29, 1944, a Royal Air Force "Lancaster" bomber was coming back from a bombing wave on Stuggart when it was hit by the German AAD shells. The seven crew members, five Canadians and two British did not survive from the crash of their bomber in the forest of Conge. It's in their memory that a stele was set up on the scene of the crash.
